Mercedes-Benz O.405 (Hispano Carrocera)

A total of 323 units were acquired by Trans Island Bus Services (TIBS) between 1993 and 1999 . 73 were non-airconditioned and the remaining were originally fitted with air-conditioning. The 73 units were subsequently converted to air-conditioned buses. A total of 308 units, including all non-airconditioned units, entered service between 1993 and 1995 and bodied with Hispano Carrocera bodywork. The remaining 15 units were acquired in 1999 and bodied with Volgren CR221 bodywork. TIB 425R & TIB 426M were the first two Mercedes-Benz bus purchased by Trans Island Bus Services (TIBS), which had unique features in its fleet. It also marks the successful valuation of Mercedes Benz buses which prompted TIBS to purchase more buses from Mercedes-Benz.
