MAN A95

SMRT Buses

The MAN A95 is an all new right-hand drive double decker city bus chassis coupled with the MAN Lion's City DD bodywork design, which was produced and assembled by Gemilang Coachworks in 2013. The demonstrator unit was sent to SMRT Buses for a one-year trial. The bus was registered as SMB5888H on 1 Oct 2014 and used for training Bus Captains for about a month. Eventually, it entered revenue service (Service 190) on 5 Nov 2014. This is the first MAN double decker city bus ever introduced in Singapore. At the time of introduction, SMRT Buses was in the midst of receiving deliveries of the 201 Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 MMC that it ordered in early 2014. A batch of 16 MAN A95 buses were acquired by SMRT Buses in 2015. The Land Transport Authority of Singapore had ordered another 60 and 122 MAN A95 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. The first order by LTA completed delivery in 2016 and all the 60 buses were subsequently assigned to SMRT, with the last 10 units being fitted with USB charging ports, a first in Singapore's bus industry.
