RapidPenangRapidPenang (Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd) is a corporate brand owned by Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana). RapidPenang was founded in June 2007 as part of the bus network revamp plan by the government.

On 1 January 2004, the closure of the Yellow Bus Company Bhd, having been operating for 58 years, amid consistent financial difficulties for several years, had left commuters with no essential public bus services. In the wake of the closure, while hoping for improvements of bus services in Penang, the bus network was entirely revamped and implemented on 1 April 2006. However, the plan had failed to improve the situation. Hence, the revamp which Kuala Lumpur underwent was taken into consideration.

The new company started providing bus services on 31 July 2007, with an initial fleet of 150 buses from various bus manufacturers in China, such as Dong Feng, King Long, Higer and JAC. Eventually, all private bus companies offering public bus services in Pulau Pinang ceased to operate.

Since 2009, with the expansion of RapidPenang's network, a total of 280 Scania buses were progressively acquired, consisting 30 full-sized 12-metre buses and 170 units 10.6-metre Scania K270UB and 80 units of 10.7-metre Scania K250UB. With the Scania K270UB, RapidPenang had achieved a milestone in providing Wheelchair Accessible Buses.

Currently, RapidPenang is the largest bus operator in Penang. It is operating all public bus services in Pulau Pinang and some routes plying from Penang Sentral (at Butterworth) with a fleet of at least 400 buses.
