SMRT Buses

SMRT Buses operates under SMRT Corporation and is the incumbent bus operator in Singapore. SMRT operates buses, taxis and trains - namely Bukit Panjang LRT, North-South Line, East-West Line and Circle Line.

Formerly known as Trans Island Bus Services (TIBS), TIBS and SMRT merged in 2004 to form SMRT Buses.

Initially, SMRT Buses operates a fleet of single decker 12 metre buses and articulated (bendy) buses. Eventually, double decker buses were introduced in July 2015 with Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 MMC. Then, with the introduction of the MAN's new double decker chassis, the MAN A95, SMRT became the first bus company to trial run the MAN A95.

Since the successful trial of the MAN A22 in 2011, MAN buses were subsequently procured as its fleet renewal and expansion.
