From 30 September 2025, public bus routes operating in Johor Bahru will be rebranded as BAS.MY Johor Bahru, featuring new and improved routes under the new brand.
While bus routes heading towards the western part of Johor Bahru, such as Tampoi and Skudai, will see no changes, several amendments will be made to the routes serving eastern Johor Bahru, including Masai and Pasir Gudang.
BAS.MY is a federal government initiative introduced in several Malaysian states. Each state’s bus routes use a unique prefix matching the first letter of the state’s vehicle license plate — for example, BAS.MY Melaka uses "M" and BAS.MY Seremban uses "N".

What are the changes?
The upcoming changes bring exciting improvements, including more frequent services with wait times as short as 15 minutes on popular routes. The western corridor — covering TUTA, Paradigm Mall, and Tampoi — will benefit from these shorter intervals. Additionally, the latest last bus from JB Sentral will be the J11 at 12:20 a.m. going towards AEON Dato' Onn, marking a significant step toward making public transport more accessible. This is a big deal since a last bus at 12:20 a.m. serving the local communities has never happened before in Johor Bahru, making public transport much more accessible.
All route numbers will now start with the prefix “J,” with the original numbers unchanged. For example, if you’re familiar with route T30, it will now be J30.

J10: JB Sentral - Kota Tinggi
Route Change Between JB Sentral and Toppen / IKEA Tebrau
With the route change, J10 will no longer stop at Larkin Terminal and Taman Perindustrian Tampoi Jaya. Instead, it will serve AEON Tebrau City and Toppen/IKEA Tebrau, replacing the current T14. Passengers will no longer need to walk to the main road along Tebrau Highway during off-peak hours to catch the bus, as boarding for J10 will be right in front of AEON Tebrau City.
If boarding at AEON Tebrau City, please note the bus stops in both directions — for buses heading to Kota Tinggi and JB Sentral.

J11 will extend and terminate at AEON Bandar Dato' Onn. The usual boarding bus stop at Taman Seri Austin going towards JB Sentral will remain unchanged.

J13: JB Sentral - Larkin
Route Change to Jalan Mahmoodiah
The new J13 will take a detour along Jalan Mahmoodiah to serve the Mahmoodiah Health Clinic. This is great for passengers visiting the clinic or the backgate of Hospital Sultanah Aminah. If you’re going to the main building of Hospital Sultanah Aminah, it’s better to take routes J30, J31, J32, J33, or J34.
Please note, this detour means J13 will skip the bus stop at TNB Johor Bahru. If you want to get off there, please use routes J10, J11, J15, J20, J22, or J100 instead.

Discontinuation of T14

New J15: JB Sentral - Mid Valley Southkey
New Bus Route J15
The introduction of the new BAS.MY Johor Bahru Route J15 will result in bus J21 no longer serving Mid Valley Southkey. This is a significant enhancement to the bus network, as the former T21 route was often overcrowded by tourists traveling between JB Sentral and Mid Valley Southkey, thus impacting local commuters heading to Permas Jaya.
The new J15 route will effectively address this issue, ensuring a more reliable service for both passengers commuting to Mid Valley Southkey and those traveling on J21 to Permas Jaya.
New J16: Toppen / IKEA Tebrau - B5 Johor Street Market
New Bus Route J16
The new BAS.MY Route J16 will take over the bus service between Larkin and AEON Tebrau City, which was part of the old T10 route.
J16 will now connect the west side of Johor Bahru (like Angsana and Tampoi) to the north side (like Pandan and Tebrau). This means passengers going from IKEA Tebrau or Pandan to Tampoi can now take one bus, J16, instead of going all the way to JB Sentral or Larkin to change buses.
This new route makes public transport much easier and more direct.
J20: JB Sentral - Masai
Route shortened to end at Terminal Masai
J20 will shorten to end at Terminal Masai, and no longer ply to KPJ Pasir Gudang and Terminal Pasir Gudang. The new route for J20 remain unchanged as the T20 from JB Sentral to Masai.

J21: JB Sentral - Permas Jaya
New Route Skips Mid Valley Southkey
Bus J21 will no longer serve Mid Valley Southkey starting from 30 September 2025. Commuters affected by this change can instead use the new Bus J15 route.
This change is a positive for Permas Jaya passengers. Since the T21 buses was often overcrowded by travelers heading to Mid Valley Southkey, this amendment will substantially improve reliability and enhance the overall public transport experience from JB Sentral to Permas Jaya.
Route Extension to Southern Permas Jaya
Furthermore, the revised J21 route will include a loop in the southern part of Permas Jaya in both directions. This change enhances public transport connectivity to Jalan Permas 13 and SMK Permas Jaya 3.
Do remember to check the direction of the bus when boarding the bus at southern Permas Jaya.

J22: JB Sentral - Taman Scientex
Route Changes in Johor Bahru
BAS.MY Route J22 will now operate from JB Sentral Terminal and skip Stadium Larkin, Kampung Kebun Teh, and SJK (C) Foon Yew 1. Passengers who used the former T22 from Larkin, Stadium Larkin, and Kampung Kebun Teh can take bus J13 to Jalan Ayer Molek to transfer to the new J22.
Passengers from SJK (C) Foon Yew 1 should seek alternative transport.
Route Changes in Taman Rinting
Bus J22 will no longer serve Terminal Masai or Regency Specialist Hospital. This amendment introduces a new connection to Taman Sierra Perdana, while public transport access to the city at Flat Balau will be retained in the new routing.
Affected passengers have alternative options:

While the J22 route is being changed to terminate at Taman Scientex, public transport connectivity to the city from Taman Cendana will be retained. This new routing offers a direct bus service from Taman Scientex to the city.
